3-1-0 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
The following terms and definitions are often used at Foqus, Inc. and throughout our documentation of the Masagement System:
CUSTOMER: Organization or person who receives product.
DIRECTORY: An itemized index of documents and/or records.
MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM:		 The interaction and control of all the processes within our company.
QUALITY:
 A degree to which a set of inherent characteristics fulfills requirements.
QUALITY
ASSURANCE:		 A part of quality management focused on providing confidence that quality requirements will be fulfilled.
QUALITY
CONTROL:		 A part of quality management focused on fulfilling requirements.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT: A part of quality management focused on increasing the ability to fulfill quality.
QUALITY
MANAGEMENT:		 Th coordinated activities to direct and control the company with regard to quality
QUALITY MANUAL: Document specifying the Management System of the company. Foqus, Inc. Quality Manual is part of the Management System Manual.
QUALITY
POLICY:		 Overall intentions and direction of the company related to quality, as expressed by executive management.
PROCEDURES:
 Specified way to carry out an activity or a process.
PROCESS: A set of interrelated or interacting activities, which transforms inputs into outputs.
PRODUCT:
 Result of a process.
RECORDS: A special type of documents.
SUPPLIER: Organization or person that provides a product or a service to Foqus, Inc..
Additional terms and definitions provided in ISO 9000:2000 also apply throughout this Managent System Manual.
